A bit of history

Nadia talks about Kui-Zin

Since 2013, Kui-Zin has been a family-run kitchen nestled in the heart of the Marrakech medina.
On our colourful rooftop, we cook every day like we would at home — with fresh ingredients, spices, and lots of love.

Here, nothing is fixed: the menu changes, the suggestions rotate, but the essentials stay the same — homemade Moroccan dishes, generous, honest, and deeply Marrakchi.

People come to eat well, to enjoy live music every evening, or just to gather over tea, couscous, or pastries.

Kui-Zin is sincere cooking, a lively place, and a team that welcomes you like you’re family.

questions for Nadia, owner of the place

What’s the perfect time to eat at Kui-Zin?

There’s no perfect time to arrive, but the best light hits the rooftop around 6:30 pm…

What’s your favorite dish?

Impossible to choose… but a slow-cooked tajine with warm bread? I rarely say no.

Your secret for a good couscous?

Time. And someone patient next to me who doesn’t ask, “Is it ready yet?”

An ingredient you could put in everything?

Raz el hanout. And a bit of heart, but that part’s free.

Do you cook yourself?

I taste. A lot. Maybe too much. But I have an incredible team of women who do it way better than I do.

If Kui-Zin were a song?

An old Moroccan classic, with laughter in the background and a spoon tapping on a pot.

If Kui-Zin were a person?

Someone who welcomes you even if you show up unannounced.

Who’s the architect of Kui-Zin?

All the Marrakchi artisans — they’re the real designers of this place.
